When I woke up yesterday morning, the last thing I must say I expected to see was a massive water stain seeping through the ceiling right above my bed! Honestly, at first I thought I was just seeing things. But then I started to hope that round shape on my pale white ceiling was a mere shadow from the early morning sunshine. Well, the shadow continued to grow in circumference. I decided to jump up out of bed and, of course, turn on the light. It was just what I had feared. It seems that a pipe in the upstairs bathroom had burst. Now the plumbing issue was making itself known in the pale white plaster of my ceiling! I ran up the stairs as quickly as I could, surprised to find the carpet in the hallway outside the bathroom to be squishy and plus underfoot. I knew this was not a good sign! Then I opened the bathroom door. There was water two inches deep all over the floor. Plus, water was pouring slowly from under the lid of the toilet only to run down onto the tile floor. I froze in place. I honestly didn’t know what to do first. Should I check the toilet? Turn off the water main and check the pipes? Start to sop up some water? Or just throw down towels? I started to go into a panic. Fortunately, I quickly got ahold of myself. I ran back downstairs to the phone, and I called our local plumbing supplier. I begged them to send someone to my home immediately, adding that I’d be willing to spend good money for emergency plumbing repair. All I needed was for this leak to stop! Soon they arrived at my home, and they had the complication fixed in only fifteen minutes. I can honestly say I’ve never been so ecstatic to see a professional plumber in my life!
