A funny thing happened to myself and my buddy at work this week. I work for a local Heating, Ventilation plus A/C contractor where we largely handle commercial Heating, Ventilation plus A/C systems. Recently we have been trying to add a few residential clients also. It’s been slow recently, just because it’s the middle of Springtime. We have been truly working on easy Heating, Ventilation plus A/C tune-ups for most of the week as everyone prepares their AC system. My partner and I were busy to perform a handful of Heating, Ventilation plus A/C tune-ups yesterday, but two of them were inside of industrial buildings downtown, and the final two were residential houses. After the industrial jobs, we stopped by a local cafe for smoke and a sandwich. We had various hours before our next appointment since the homeowners wouldn’t be available, so we decided to sit down and eat in the steakhouse. Buddy and I were just waiting for our food at the bar, standing in the steakhouse, when we heard a loud crashing sound come from the kitchen. A few minutes later, the director came running out to alert the clients that everything was going to be fine. An Heating, Ventilation plus A/C duct had collapsed in the back hall of the kitchen. No one was hurt, but they would need to close to call out a professional HVAC dealer. Buddy and I got up to help them out, since we had some time to spare. They hesitated for a minute at first, until we showed them our contractors license. Buddy and I cleared up the mess, and reassembled the ductwork within an hour. The director of the store was ecstatic for our quick and conscientious help. We still go to the steakhouse, but now we get free food.
