When my brother made the decision to quit his job as a pipe fitter, I thought he was wrong. He had worked that job for quite some time now, and he seemed to always be enjoying it. I’m not sure what got into him that he felt he needed a change, but at least he was looking at a career that still had a lot of job stability to it. He told me that he wanted to go to HVAC school to become a certified HVAC technician. He had enough money saved from his other job, to be able to attend the eighteen month course, and still maintain his home. I thought it was terrific that he was thinking this far ahead. He was telling me about the job, and how much he liked the idea of being able to work on even his own heating and air conditioning systems. I really wanted to ask why he wanted to make the change, but I kept my mouth shut. Shortly after he started the classes, I asked him what he thought about the new career he was working for. He told me that there are a lot of single ladies in this city, and they all would be needing HVAC service at one time or another. He felt that he would be able to come in contact with most of them. Now I knew why he wanted to change careers, and I am going to do my damndest to make him change his mind. Finding a girl is not a good reason to give up a good job.
