Fairly recently, I was able to land myself a long awaited for promotion at work as well as now everything is starting to change in a great way! I have an excess of money flowing in, I get more respect at work, as well as I’ve even noticed some guys giving me looks across the bar I frequent far too often. In fact, things are getting so marvelous that I’m pursuing a dwelling of my own, instead of renting. I’m feel that I’m ready to settle down as well as plant some roots in this community. The best place to get started (besides the job) is to buy a dwelling. It has been difficult, but I remain optimistic that I will be successful in the end. I suppose the biggest problem I keep running into is that all the dwellings in this area seem to have radon gas leaks in them. To be fair, almost every dwelling in this area was built before 1900 so cracks in the foundation are rather common. The main issue comes in trying to figure out the best remedy to the problem. Sealing up the cracks sounds great, however these aged dwellings seem to always be shifting around as well as that means new cracks can form at any given time. I can definitely get a radon gas detector or more than one for the basement, even though I also want something more in terms of long-term protection. There are sub-slab ventilation systems that are able to pull the radon gas out from the sub-foundation as well as send it harmlessly into the atmosphere. My only concern is that cutting into the floor might cause further troubles somewhere down the road.
