I have lived in the south for our entire life. We grew up here, went to school here, and have worked here in our chosen profession for the last decade and a half. After all of that, I am glad to say we’re finally moving somewhere new and exciting. I found a job in my field up north that pays way more than I make now! It also has upper management opportunities, which is perfect since I want to keep moving up. Since I can’t perform the job duties from here, we’ll have to move! I have no idea what I’m in for on a grand scale. I do know some of the things to expect, like how the people talk a bit differently. I will need to get used to that! Also, the weather is pretty much the opposite of down here, so that will be a thing. I hope it doesn’t get too cold too fast. I’ve seen those weather reports throughout the years about terrible snow storms with weather in the drawback digits and it sounds honestly awful. I am used to needing the a/c running for a couple weeks of the year then nothing else. The idea of having to live with a oil furnace keeping me warm for half the year doesn’t sound appealing in the least. Although, I feel like it will not be as terrible as I feel it will be. Maybe this whole global warming thing will finally take the planets temperature to a more comfortable level. Moving forward, I I plan on trying to adapt to the cold so I won’t feel the constant need to use an oil furnace to keep warm.
