When I began looking into a current thermostat, I didn’t know how advanced the chances had become. After doing some research, I decided to spend a bit more money on a Wi-Fi thermostat. Although the better odds are in wireless thermostats, I still needed wires to connect it to the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C system. One great thing is the thermostat links to the internet, so that I can manage our heating/cooling system from our smart cellphone or laptop. Because of the wireless technology, I don’t need to be at our house to make changes to temperature settings. This ability is a definite improvement over a programmable thermostat. If I’m stuck working late, I can simply use the app, log into the wireless thermostat, and change when the oil furnace or a/c kicks in. No matter where I am, I can consistently monitor and adjust the heating/cooling system to optimize energy efficiency and performance. I don’t need to worry about a malfunction when I’m away from home, because I get alerts if there’s a sudden temperature fluctuation. If there’s a sudden drop in the outside temperature, I have the system give myself and others a warning so we can prevent water pipes from freezing. Plus, I get notified for service needs and filter changes, ensuring that I take better care of the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C equipment. My Wi-Fi thermostat even tracks our energy use and provides reports, which help myself and others make adjustments to trim biweekly costs. Although the price tag of the wireless thermostat was much higher than a standard model, I have reduced our energy bills by around thirty percent. It won’t take long for the wireless thermostat to pay for itself. It has made my family life much simpler and more convenient.
