Last month, my husband installed an air purification unit into our HVAC system. I suffer from severe asthma and if I don’t have perfect air quality, I can stop breathing. Unlike many asthmatics who go through coughing fits first, I just close up and I am unable to breathe. I also have severe pollen irritations, so just the whiff of something can cause me to stop breathing. So I need to be certain the purification unit keeps the air quality pristine. There are times that no matter what you do, something is going to interfere with my air quality. Both of us came home from grocery shopping the other night and I saw the weeds move next to the house. I figured it was our neighbors cat, or maybe there was some squirrel or rabbit in there. I didn’t care anything about it, but I threw a bit of lettuce outside in case it might be a rabbit. Many hours later, there was this most horrendous aroma seeping into the house. My small donation for the rabbits also attracted a skunk and he didn’t want to be bothered by any rabbits. The aroma ruined my air quality. No matter how great the media air cleaner is, it did not eliminate that stink of the skunk, plus it didn’t stop my pollen irritations from acting up. I’m going to call the HVAC and have them change the air filters for the media air cleaner because I would suppose that it would have eradicated the house of some of the aroma, but it did not stop any of it.
