There’s a state park near my apartment that I visit at least once a week–it’s a really lovely site, and I believe I’m lucky to have access to it! Sometimes when I go out there I end up staying all day because there are tons of trails plus areas to explore! Last weekend, I even went camping out there for a couple of nights. I enjoyed the adventure, but by the end up it I was ready to get back to my apartment building! The crazy temperatures were unusually high last weekend, so not having access to an AC unit was tough… When I made it home, I was so sleepy that I cranked up the heating and AC system and just crashed on my couch. I could enjoy the frosty air pumping, so much so that I slept for four hours straight! My outing made me realize how much I appreciate nature, as well as how much I appreciate my undefined all at the same time. I’ve really been contemplating taking a week long trip to a new park that’s a few hours away from where I live, but I think that I need some more experience with longer camping trips before I do that. Yet a week without central air conditioning in the woods sounds both fun as well as challenging. I think that I could survive for a week, but I don’t want to be uncomfortable the entire time! Maybe I should try a four day trek before I do the week long trip in completely new-to-me territory! Or, maybe I could just bring a portable air conditioner along in my truck. That would be the dream!
