Living in the North necessitates having a rug in the bathroom. My mom lives in the South & his whole home is tile, because it’s hot all year round so it’s never a problem. Where I live, a tile floor literally feels like ice half the year! I can take the cold, but once my feet get cold, I’m done. You gotta get a hot bath for that–no amount of socks or slippers will make it better. I’ve grown used to just taking a hot bath everyday in the Winter–my rent includes the water bill anyway so it’s not a pressing financial deficit. I was so reluctant to get out, because I never wanted to leave the warmth of the bath. My new residence, however, has made it entirely simple to get out of the bath because my landlord set up the lavatory brilliantly. It’s a small little lavatory, just enough area for what you need. But he gave it its own zone controlled HVAC unit & positioned the drying rod for the towels over the radiator for the electric heating. What this means is, I can turn the heat on when I go to take a bath, & the heat not only warms up the bathroom fast–it rises to the towel hanging above it; Now when I get out of the shower or the bath, the towels always feel so wonderfully warm to the touch. I’ve never thought to do this before–my landlord is some kind of genius!
