Last night it finally happened — the two of us had a nice, cool night… To you this may sound like no sizable deal, however in our neighborhood it most definitely is an immense deal. But every year it gets a little hotter around here, and stays hotter for a little longer than the year before. There was a time when the two of us experienced all four glorious seasons. However now it seems the two of us are down to just half of them. Every one of us have more than eight months worth of balmy, humid summertime weather, followed by a few quick months of fall–tt never feels chilly enough to call it Winter season. You suppose I am exaggerating, however just last month I tried to remember the last time I used our gas furnace. Then seriously, it has been a little more than five years since I even turned the central gas furnace on, and even then it was just to check and see if it still worked. I haven’t checked it again, because it simply does not matter if there is a working furnace in our house. The odds of needing any heating in our lifetime seem to be legitimately small, so why bother messing with the furnace at all? Anyway, now that I felt the first mildly cool weather approaching, it was time to plan our annual No AC celebration. It is exactly what it sounds like–a group of friends and neighbors celebration the celebrate the short window of time when the lot of us don’t need our air conditioners to survive. The No AC parties have turned into a pretty major affair, so I’m gleeful about this year’s sizable bash.
