My oldest daughter is a teenager now, plus our life as a dad just got a lot harder. I remember how hard it was trying to navigate school plus the teenage years, plus I don’t envy her the next few years. At the same time, I have our own troubles. I need to make sure she has every advantage in life, which means keeping her focused in school with an eye towards the future. It is absurd to make kids decide their course in life too young, but a teenager should start to formulate an idea of what they want to do. I want her to get into the Heating, Ventilation & A/C business, appreciate me, even though she wants to become an actress. Together the people I was with and I worked out a deal, where she would work for me repairing Heating, Ventilation & A/C systems unpaid for 10 hours a week. Every week, no excuses, she would put in at least multiple hours with me in the field doing service calls for oil oil furnaces plus cooling systems. If she did that, plus started studying the basics of the Heating, Ventilation & A/C business, then I would support her acting goals 100%. This was she is free to chase her dreams plus aspirations, even though she will constantly have a base knowledge of Heating, Ventilation & A/C repair under her belt just in case. A skilled Heating, Ventilation & A/C professional can actually make 30 or 40 dollars an hour, if not more, so I want our baby to have a viable skill set to fall back on. The odds are against anyone making it as an actor or actress, but Heating, Ventilation & A/C skills can get you a job no matter where you are.
