Our condo has many temperature controls in addition to many furnaces, but I wouldn’t exactly call it zone heating. Part of our condo is really outdated – the original space of the condo was built way back in the early space of last century. Then the newer space of the condo was only built about ten years ago; You can imagine the difference in how well the walls are insulated in the many odd sections. All of us find that even if we set the temperature control at the same temperature on the odd sides of the house, 1 of the furnaces has to run much longer in addition to work much harder than the 1 on the other side of the house. You can definitely suppose which furnace gets stuck with all of the work. It’s definitely the 1 that has to heat the older side of the house. We’ve had many Heating in addition to A/C workers out to look at the troubles we have here but they all say it’s a complication with the insulation, or lack thereof. There isn’t much we can do to help with the furnace running always on that side of the house, unless we decide to install some of that blow in insulation that you can get these mornings. It seems like the outdated insulation in the walls of our outdated condo was nothing more than newspapers! Hopefully with up-to-date insulation we will get the furnace issue resolved because it’s unquestionably drafty here in addition to we don’t want to have to update 1 of the heating units every 5 years or so because it’s not running efficiently enough.
