I’m fine with traveling

I had been out of work for a while now and desperately seeking a job. All my savings had been spent and my unemployment benefits, totally exhausted. I was staring hunger and homelessness in the face and it was scaring the daylights out of me. It’s not that no jobs at all were available, but my job search had one requirement which could not be compromised: I needed a workspace with great temperature control.

I suffer from allergies and was compelled to leave my last job, because of the poor air quality there. While at work, I was constantly sneezing and coughing, all due to the poor functioning of the HVAC system. From what I hear that AC unit was installed long before the younger staff members were even born. There had been numerous verbal and written request to management requesting the replacement of the old HVAC system with a new one, none of which has ever been acted upon. The AC serviceman comes by fairly regularly to service it, but that has absolutely no effect on the air it produces. It was like beating a dead horse.

So there I was, daily pounding the pavement, but with no suitable workplace in sight. All the companies and stores were either too hot, too cold, or had no HVAC system at all. I was ready to take whatever job I could get, regardless of the absence of climate control, when the perfect solution turned up. I was offered an opportunity to work from home! My apartment is not perfect but it does have an efficient, adequately serviced HVAC system.

      Problem solved!
