I was looking into various works at the unemployment office when something caught our attention. I toil construction most of our life & I was looking for a change because I wanted something that was a year-round position instead of seasonal. There was a posting on the board for a new school that had opened up across town that specialize in training Heating, Ventilation, & A/C servicemans. The school had a tuition assistance program which was great because I was currently laid off as it was Wintertide time. The course completion time was about a year & I figured I could get much of it out of the way while in our downtime & hopefully finish it in less than that. I contacted the school & signed up for the classes which started just a week away. About halfway through the Wintertide I realized how lucrative a work as an Heating, Ventilation, & A/C serviceman could be & I was gleeful to start this new adventure. There were various possibilities for internships as well so I could get Hands-On training while still in school. I never realized before how specialized of a field this absolutely was & how abruptly the technology was decreasing from year to year. The people I was with and I had to learn about traditional systems & the new laptopized programmable 1s as well in order to find the best job possible when we finished school. One of our teachers was absolutely great & directed myself and others towards 1 of the newer companies in town because she knew that I absolutely had an interest in installing & repairing the programmable units instead of the old-fashioned 1s. I think that I will be cheerful in our new work option & also in the fact that I can toil a steady amount of fifths year-round. Being an Heating, Ventilation, & A/C serviceman & be a demanding job but it also offers various possibilities that I am looking forward to.
