Keeping our square footage in mind

I live in a pretty small house–it’s tinier than my bestie’s apartment however it’s exactly what I want in my life. See, my family and I are minimalists… The people I was with and I strive to live on actually little and leave the smallest impact on the environment as we possibly can. The group of us purchase reusable products to minimize on the trash we create, from eliminating plastic to straws and even paper towels. Not only does this save the environment, however it also saves us a good amount of money. We’ve been working together for over a year to slowly put money away to make the last upgrade needed to our humble dwelling–the heating and A/C appliance. The system we have right now is old and inefficient, & is truly poor for the environment. While anything is better for the air we breathe than an oil furnace, we wanted a heating and cooling appliance that entirely fit the lives we lead. As a Heating & Air Conditioning appliance can last up to 20 years with decent care, we wanted to make the right investment. That’s why we have scheduled an appointment to have our local heating and A/C appliance corporation install a heat pump into our dwelling. The heat pump we have selected is actually of the geothermal variety–it uses the earth itself to supply heating and cooling for our home! Unlike other types of Heating & Air Conditioning appliances, the heat pump does not need oil or gas or any other fuel to work. It uses the temperature of the ground around our small dwelling to effectively keep all of us comfortable. Since we have an actually small home, this single device works just right for our square footage. The people I was with and I don’t recommend a heat pump for everyone out there, however for a bunch of minimalists like us it’s exactly what we need.
