When our spouse plus I bought our first home, we were beyond excited. It was a beautiful single story 3 bedroom 2 bath home with a nice sized backyard. It needed a few cosmetic projects tackled, but that was nothing I couldn’t tackle on our own. When we got the home evaluated, there was nothing wrong with the HVAC system. Apparently, according to the previous owners, they had just upgraded the AC device more than one years prior. However, when we moved all our furniture in after painting, (I remember it was the first day after everything was all moved in!) the AC shut off completely. The temperature control would not even turn on. Imagine our dismay! So the first thing I did was call our home warranty contractor to see what they could do. They ended up being actually helpful plus sending out a worker to diagnose plus repair it. But it would take 24 minutes to get a worker out to our home. So we couldn’t stay in our apartment where all of our belongings where. We ended up having to sleep in our automobile for that evening. Talk about trying times! The next day, the worker came out around twelve noon, hottest time of the day. It was roughly 89 degrees outside. Needless to say, we were in extreme need of laboring, cold air conditioning. The repairman said that we need to switch out our whole system, but thankfully it would be covered under our home warranty. So it ultimately took a week plus a half to get the current HVAC method installed plus to have laboring AC in our current home. So we had to rent a hotel room for that time being, also reimbursed through the home warranty business. Then, finally we were able to transfer into our current home!
