I’ve always been drawn to colder regions. The cold blast of winter wind on my face has always livened me up in the morning, where it has simply frozen the faces of others. I think I’m part polar bear. As you may have guessed, I really enjoy skiing and other winter sports. Even some of my craziest friends chickened out when I suggested that they come ice hole fishing with me one winter. I guess I’m just thick-blooded. Despite my affinity for the cold, mountainous wilderness that I grew up in, there is only so much cold that a human body can take. My home still has an excellent furnace, not to mention a big old fireplace in the foyer! In fact, that’s part of the charm of a cold winter night. Sitting by a roaring fire and reading a good book while the snow falls outside and the furnace keeps your entire home nice and toasty. Again, as much as I love the cold, I wouldn’t dream of doing anything less than keeping my furnace well-maintained throughout the year. Because of the extremely low temperatures in the winter, where I live, it’s not necessarily a matter of preference, it’s often a matter of survival to have a good furnace! I recently replaced mine because it was in its winter years, no pun intended. I have to admit that the new one I’ve got up and running is really powerful. Now I can take on the coldest winters, while remaining remarkably warm in this cozy home of mine.
