I really can’t warm up

Being a woman in her fifties brings some fun challenges to everyday life. Those challenges include time-maintained adventure games, such as “Make it to job without covered in sweat through your shirt”, or the fan favorite “drive with your head sticking out of the car window prefer a cat”! Jokes aside, this time in our life has shown myself and others some bodily changes that I’m not enjoying at all. Of all the symptoms of menopause that I can’t stand, the hot flashes are the worst part! I’ve never been one to sweat heavily for our whole life, however now I can’t sleep through the night without waking up in a pool of our own sweat! My spouse is supportive plus tells myself and others it’s okay, however I still felt insecure about this phenomenon. Well, our darling spouse surprised myself and others a week later with something I never even knew existed. It was a portable fan, identifiably built to blow cool air under the sheets of your bed. Simply called a “bed fan”, this small air conditioning method proved to be the MVP of our nightly battles with these symptoms. The bed fan faithfully circulates cool air under the covers as I sleep, which ensures that I still get as much airflow as if I were sleeping with nothing on myself and others at all. I love our spouse for making such a thoughtful purchase for me, as the bed fan hasn’t left the bedside since the morning he brought it home for me! Now, if only I could find a repair for our other symptoms…
