I work in a super jam packed Heating and A/C service building; Most of my colleagues and I are responsible for five repairs yearly, there can be times when things become very busy. With that being said most of the time things are the same, recently, I was sent out to check on someone’s furnace. They were whining about poor airflow, and asked if both of us could investigate the heating problem, however I was tasked with the job, and I met with the clients Last month. The largest problem was some HVAC duct headaches that really needed to be fixed. The airflow was decreased, because several parts of the HVAC duct needed to be resealed, however above the master study room, one of the pieces of HVAC duct was almost entirely broken off. I quoted the customer a satisfactory price for the HVAC duct repairs. The customer asked me if I could go any lower, and I scanned the company ad for a decent priced coupon. I later found a coupon that gave 10% off, which saved my customer another $50. That was truthfully the lowest I could go. however the customer still wasn’t satisfied. The customer asked if I would be willing to make the repairs for cash. I told the customer that was fine, however both of us would still charge the same amount. That’s when the customer asked me to come back later and repair the HVAC system. He really wanted me to accept money to repair the HVAC duct on my own time. I wasn’t going to risk my entire career all for a couple of hundred dollars, and I politely told the customer that this was impossible. I left the estimate and later excused myself from the property. I do not believe if they will give me a response.
