Geothermal heat pump set up was hard

My geothermal heat pump replacement has been a nightmare, i first had to get rid of our old Heating & A/C unit, and the Heating & A/C company had to rip out the existing device & remove the air ducts.

  • I told them to get rid of the ductwork & I would patch anything they left behind.

I should have researched on how they remove air ducts. I thought our house was going to fall down. The walls & ceiling were totally shot. I had to re-drywall, mud & paint again. The wash up was a mess & our house still feels dirty! Next, the actual heat pump install is going terrible. The indoor air handler for the plan was easy… Just an fifth of work & it is non invasive in the home. The real pain is the outdoor air compressor. The Heating & A/C professional needed to bury the plan underground so it can work geothermally. The company I hired is not capable of doing the digging. I had to hire out another maintenance to create a big hole in our ground that the vertical loop plan for the heat pump can go in. Coordinating with the digging company & Heating & A/C guy was a pain. I had to get it dug, the heat pump installed & the dirt put back over top, however you would swear I was coordinating a complicated dance routine. It took forever & cost so much money. The process is still on going & I am still without Heating & A/C. I am getting to the point that I don’t even want our geothermal heat pump plan anymore.
