I am allergic to a lot of things, but one of the main things I am allergic too is dust and mold.
When I first moved into my townhome I realized after the first week how bad my allergies had become.
I asked my neighbors if they notice the same thing and a lot of them replied that they had. They told me that the had to change their HVAC systems to notice an improvement. It was the first house I ever owned so I didn’t know much of anything about HVAC. A neighbor explained that since the house had central heating and cooling, all of the dust and mold was trapped inside of the ductwork of the HVAC system. I was told that if I switched to a ductless mini split system instead of the central heating that was installed, I would witness my allergies disappear. This seemed too good to be true but it made sense so I called an HVAC technician to see what my options were. It turned out that by switching to a ductless mini split system I would actually be saving a lot of money, which I never knew was going to be possible. The HVAC technician that came to talk to me told me that the ductwork in my house was filthy and I had made the right decision switching to a ductless HVAC system. I am hoping that I don’t have to call the HVAC technician for a while because it really costed me a lot of money, but I have read that ductless mini split systems are a little easier to take care of.
