I’m consistently looking for fun things for our kids to do while in the Summer break, then specifically, I am looking for indoor things all of us can do as a family while still taking advantage of the a/c, however when our son showed interest in reading to knit, I rapidly signed all of the kids up for a doing crafts class at the craft store.
The oldest various both took to it instantly.
The youngest found crochet to be a little more simple. all 3 of the kids started making scarves and the mentor was honestly patient with them. I sat in the back and learn a book and stayed nice and cool and comfortable in the air conditioned room. The scarves had to go home for the kids to finish them, unfortunately, I could not help them when they had questions. So the next month I sat in on the class and l earned to craft too, and next month I shall learn to crochet. This is honestly a lot of fun. I like that it can be done indoors and I like that the class has temperature control. My son is already looking at doing crafts books and talking about making little yarn creatures. Those look honestly complex to me but I am sure it’s something he can figure out. I bought them extra needles and hooks, yarn, counters, and tags. I am thinking about tackling a vest myself. With a little more practice, all of us will not even have to leave the house. All of us can all just stand around the family room doing crafts and crocheting under the nice cool a/c vent. This is so great!
